Hi, I have a photography store and am specialising in event photography, Meaning I have to upload several hundred photo items at a time. All the items have the same description and price, is there a way I can automate the creation of the new product, add a thumbnail photo and add the full digital download file? Or do I have to continue to do this one item at a time.

If your event photography is all hosted in a public database, you can use a CSV file to upload multiple products at once. The Image Src column of the CSV file just requires the URL for the main image, and the URLs for each product's additional images can be added to the Variant Image column.
Alternatively, you can leave the Image Src and Variant Image columns blank and upload multiple images to each product in the admin after the CSV is imported. This option is helpful if you don't have your photographs in a public database and therefore don't have URLs for them. The CSV will still allow you to create multiple products at once including the title, price, and description for each. Then, you can just drag and drop multiple images into each product page in the admin. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Can you clarify how to include multiple image URLs in the Variant Image column for a single product? Do you separate the URLs by commas, for example?
Welcome to the Shopify Community! Each variant can only have one assigned image, so there should only be one image URL in each cell of the Variant Image column. Products with multiple variants should have a separate row for each variant, like this sample product CSV displays:
Here, you can see that there are variants for the Small and Medium t-shirts, and you can add an image for each variant (size, in this case). Can you tell me a bit more about how you want the images to appear on the product page of your store? I'd be happy to look into alternative solutions for you.
