I received an email saying my webhook has failed. Firstly, what is a Webhook?

Secondly, do stores need one? I've had my store for nearly two years and I've never had one.

Feeling a little overwhelmed if anyone could help or point me to someone who could, I would really appreciate it

Webhooks are a tool for retrieving and storing data from a certain event (more on this here). Sometimes a webhook might fail because there has been too long a time delay in the exchange of data. Why? Well -


 So the question is: have you added a third-party app to your store recently? Or have you made any conspicuous code edits at all?
