I'm looking for advice oh how to get more traffic to our site and whether we could do anything to the site itself to make it more appealing to potential customers? We have been posting to social media and paid for some Facebook ads, which has got a larger audience seeing our product/brand.
Many help and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Posting to Social Media, and Facebook ads are a good start. Have you looked into optimizing your SEO, and submitted your site to Google so that Google can index it properly? You may also want to consider Content Marketing (i.e. a blog, with SEO-optimized content), if done well that can help your engagement, and ranking on Google.
Thank you for your reply, it is much appreciated! Yes I have been looking into SEO and have done some work on it, it seems theres a lot more to it than what there used to be, especially with Google having all their algorithms. I did submit the site to Google, I assume you only have to do this once. We have recently added some more blogs to our site, which seem to be increasing site visits. What would SEO-optimized content involve?
Thank you once again.
You're welcome. :-)
SEO usually involves strategic use of keywords (it's good to come up with at least a basic plan for this before you start), as well as website optimization (Google algorithms check things like site speed, accuracy of your keywords, user engagement etc). There's so much to it that I can't cover all of it here, however, there is a lot of good info available online.
I took a look at your website and I can definitely see some SEO issues. Each of your product pages need to be optimized for specific keywords/keyphrases. Think about it from a text-only perspective.
For example, if a human goes to this page:
It's pretty obvious that this is a bowtie for a kid, however, there's no text on the page specifying that. So, a bot crawling this page that only views text wouldn't know that it's for kids. I would highly recommend adding "Boy's" to the title.
Also, your descriptions are seriously lacking. Try expanding on each detail, adding some sales copy, and mentioning all the available colors.
The alt text on images should also include the target keywords.
