my email address appears at check out

How do I hide my private email address on check out? As soon as it asks the customer to put in their PayPal details, it has a message saying "cancel and return back to (email address)" which has my personal name. Is there a way to hide this or to put my business email instead?

When your email address appears in the checkout, is this after PayPal is selected as a payment option? If so, this portion of the checkout is hosted entirely on PayPal's end, so the information displayed there would be drawn directly from your PayPal account settings. If you are needing assistance adjusting this, I would recommend contacting PayPal directly.
