Hi there,

i live in Afghanistan and I'd like to set up a Shopify store but I have a couple of questions buzzing around my head for a week and I have not been able to find the right answers. Paypal is not supported in Afghanistan and the supported payment method is master card and visa card so I wonder if someone knows I will get paid through a master card?

my second question is that will I be able to get paid from a foreign customer? for instance a U.S residence may wants to purchase from my store? will he be able to do so and am I gonna get paid or not?

Thank you.

Hi, @mydesk-3!

I'm Miles from the Social Care team at Shopify. It's great to hear you'd like to set up a Shopify store.

Accepted payment providers in Afghanistan include:

  • All popular payment methods | Paysera
  • BitPay
  • Coinbase Commerce
  • CoinPayments.net Crypto Payments

If these aren't suitable, you'll need to reach out to other payment providers you're interested in to see if they can help out.

You're able to sell anywhere in the world. So if you have a US customer, they'll make their payment and it will be converted into Afghan afghani for your payout. For more information on this, you'll need to speak to your payment provider for assistance.

If you need any assistance with setting up your store, please let us know. A great place to start is our introduction guide, which will walk through everything from signing up to making your first sale. You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/2MHPHha.
