My client has signed up with Brafton for their news-content services. See: www.brafton.com
Now I need to create an application that accesses the Shopify API. This application would regularly check the content provider for updates and then add new articles to your store that don't exist yet. See "Articles API":http://api.shopify.com/article.html
This is the comment from Brafton:
"The Shopify API looks suitable, although it lacks a good means of finding an existing post. Retrieving the full list of articles as XML/JSON, parsing it, and searching through it for each update to check for existence isn't a great solution, and it may make more sense to design around it.
It looks to me like the updater will have to sit on a server or some other computer that is reliably connected to the internet. The updater will parse the feed, formulate the proper JSON request(s), and send them to your Shopify site. If I were designing it, I'd also consider using a local database to store Brafton ID - Shopify Article ID pairs to use for post updates instead of searching the Shopify API-provided article list."
If interested, contact me with some references / previous work.
Damn you Gavin! Damn you to hell :)
I have a new Bayliner 335SB to pay for. I can't do that if you keep giving people alternatives!
@Kenneth: this may be a good solution too if you're not too bugged about the site maintaining a consistent look.
