Looking for help with Debut theme issue

Hello - We are developing a new site. The main image with text overlay on the home page is not responsive and gets cut off on the desktop. Seems to work on tablets and laptops. If I make the image small, it works on mobile but gets completely cut off on anything else. Looking for a way to make it as big as possible on desk top and then responsive on mobile as well. 

This is what it would ideally look like on Mobile while set to large so it fits desktop too. Looking to hire someone with experience with Debut who can fix this issue for us.

Another approach could be to serve different images on desktop and mobile...
