Company: The Brandit

Contact: Dan Bowman - please email me at dan@thebrandit.com

Project URL: http://hangar24brewery.myshopify.com/

Budget: Estimate requested from developer

PROJECT DETAILS:

There are 2 things I'm looking to accomplish for http://hangar24brewery.myshopify.com/

1) Looking to get rid of the ".myshopify.com" element in the URL. I'm looking for someone who can walk me through this process over the phone to make sure that it's done properly the first time so that there is no down time of the store. IMPORTANT: Only the store is in Shopify, not the entire site. We'd like the URL for the store to be "hangar24brewery.shop.com" instead (or something to that effect).

2) Looking to add a super simple form to the bottom of the shopping cart page. Like is done in the shopping cart of the following site (http://www.carmanranch.com/cart). We just want to ask people:

“How did you discover Hangar 24’s online store?”

• Friend/family
• In the tasting room
• Facebook
• Twitter
• Online search
• At an event (   text field   )
• Other(   text field   )

SUBMIT BUTTON

Please send response via email with basic estimate.

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

I can help you with this pro bono right here in the forum. Who is your registrar?

I just sent that question to my client. I believe they used GoDaddy to register their domain, but I need to get confirmation on that.

Regarding the survey, how did the developer get the form on the cart page of www.CarmanRanch.com? I just think there's a much greater chance of getting a customer to provide that information on the cart page than after the order is placed and payment is made.

Ah, on the cart page not the checkout page. That just goes into cart.liquid, even easier as that comes through with the order as cart attributes.

Example:

                           <label for="attributes[hear_about_us]">How did you hear about us?</label>
                               <select name="attributes[hear_about_us]" id="dlocation">
					<option>Please Select</option>
					<option>Friend</option>
					<option>Mother</option>
					<option>Sister</option>
                                        <option>Brother</option>
				</select>

Thanks, Jamie. I appreciate the help!

I hate asking for free advice, but the information I'm looking to collect would actually be in a radio button format with a couple of additional text fields (if possible). I'm not very savvy when it comes to writing /editing code with forms. Any help would be appreciated and I'm definitely happy to pay for it. The format I'm looking for is:

“How did you discover Hangar 24’s online store?”

• Friend/family
• In the tasting room
• Facebook
• Twitter
• Online search
• At an event
(   TEXT FIELD   )
• Other
(   TEXT FIELD   )

I actually think they're okay with the previous solution you presented for now. Is it easy make that element mandatory? Or is that fairly involved? Again, thanks a lot for your assistance, Jamie.

Easy to swap for your other version as well. To make it mandatory will take a little javascript. May decrease conversions to make that mandatory, or you will get bad data from customers (like me) who will click on anything to get through to the next step.

So, so true. I would be like that customer myself.

I think my client is good for now with just the interim fix. If they decide they want something more detailed, I'll hit you up for some more help.

Regarding the domain issue (removing the ".myshopify"), is that something you can still walk me through? Would a phone call be easier using Join Me? I'm really pretty anxious about getting in there and messing something up as I've not done anything like this before. I just want to be sure it's done right the first time. They are registered with Go Daddy and I just got their login info.

Again, if willing, I'd like to pay you for your time as I do really appreciate your assistance.

Did you ever figure out who the registrar was for their domain name Dan?
