Hi, I’m new too - but from what I have tested, store credit is a minefield in Shopify! Credit is not applied to individual customers, but pooled across the store - hugely complex...
My intended workaround is to generate a gift card in the customer’s name for the refund amount. This way I can retrieve the card details if they lose it and we can track the remaining balance. Sub-optimal but simple.
