BarCode App - Import Back into Shopify ?

I was looking at the Dymo app, that allows you to import a product file into the DYMO software and creates custom (you select the fields) UPC codes and prints them to a label.

My question is, does the Dymo app save the generated UPC codes back into the spreadsheet file, so you can import the numbers back into Shopify ?

Thanks

Hi Roy,

The use case that currently supported is to:

1) Generate barcodes in Shopify using the Dymo App.

2) Import the numbers into Dymo Label software together with product details

3) Print codes in Dymo Label software however you like (or directly from Shopify)

This way the barcodes would match by default.

Hope this helps,

Is the Dyno app/printer just specific to barcodes or if I am not using barcodes can I use it to print "SKU" stick on labels? My use case is this:

1) Decide on new product and make it

2) Receive physical inventory

3) Add Product and variants to shopify

4) Print stick on labels with SKU and stick them on variant items

5) Customer orders item online or buys in Point of sale fashion.  Use SKU to ring up customer/pull from inventory

Or should I make the leap to barcodes and get a scanner?

Hi Sean,

Thanks for the question.

The Dymo app is primarily made to print barcodes. What you propose would work in theory, however the barcode label could very well get too long to fit on a sticker if you use an alphanumeric SKU vs. a numeric barcode. So I guess my advice to you would be to try it out, and if the barcodes fit, great. If not, I would go with barcodes.

Hope this helps,
