I would really love to know if there is a plan for the system to generate barcodes. I'm sure a lot of retailers (especially boutiques) receive items without barcodes and there was zero info on support about this. Having to go print randomly generated barcodes seems like a hassle especially if you have to work off an ipad.
Most printers actually come with the software to print barcodes already. When we get tickets about this question, we usually suggest looking into Dymo brand printers, as they usually have that as part of their software package. While Shopify POS doesn't have this ability yet, it's definitely something we're exploring for the future.

Thanks for the link. This may be a possibility in the future with our POS app, but for now we simply don't have this feature. Due to this being a very popular request, I'll make sure out POS team is made aware of this and hopefully they can implement it in a future release of the app. In the mean time, the third party software will be required to print barcodes.
