Hi all, we run a bicycle shop and online store.
We are just about to start using the pos system and would like to find out if we can use it when booking in peoples bikes for repair/servicing.
We need to capture their details and what they need done and then have a receipt and report after we have completed the repair.
Does Shopify or any add on app have such features?
While not available on the POS app itself, the Admin just got a backend invoicing and "Draft Order" system designed to help make orders and invoices available on the back end. You can read more about it here to see if it suits your needs:
This app, Draft And Custom Orders For POS, (https://apps.shopify.com/draft-and-custom-orders-for-pos) can 100% help you with your situation. It was built for stores that offer products but also services as well.
With it you can create custom services, in addition to adding your products. For example, you can create a custom order that has a "Bike Servicing" line item, as well as any other product. You can add minutes, hourly labour rate, notes to custom line items (if you'd like). You can also add workflow statuses, such as "New", "In Progress", "Completed", "Estimate", etc to specify the status of the draft order. Once you finish a repair, and charge the customer, the draft order will turn into a real order where you can print the receipt. All within POS.
Also before this app, you would have to go into the Shopify Admin (on the computer) to create or edit a draft order, and then in order to checkout/charge a customer, you would have to email/send them the invoice link or charge them through your computer. Now with this app, you can create a custom draft order right within POS, and you can add that draft order straight to the POS cart in order to checkout/charge the customer inside your retail store or in person.
With Draft And Custom Orders For Shopify POS you can now do the following all within the Shopify POS app for any device:
