Is there anyway we can run some form of end of day report which shows items like
Number of Sales
Number of Refunds
because right now it is hard to track exactly what has happened during the day. Most POS give some form of audit report which tells you at a glance what transactions occurred during the day and this is essential for balancing the till at the day end.
the problem with the Register Shifts is that it just gives totals. We need a list of transactions on a date/time ordered basis. for instance, a refund may be from a sale last week, and this is information that the supervisor or manager needs to know! You can review the actual sales for a day but I cannot see how you can trace a refund?
It would be helpful for us if an "end of day" report or some kind of admin access to the register detail included adjustments. This information is critical for accounting purposes since it tracks cash in and out of the register apart from sales. Some examples include removing excess cash which would count as income. We also pay the window washer and other services and payouts from the register. As of now, we have to print the paper end-of-day report (which doesn't include the register number) and send that to our book keeper.
You can run a report using this free tool we built:
And it will show all of your orders and all of your refunds. It also shows any other transaction that affects your balance (payouts, etc), but that should be very easy to filter out if you need to.
