After upgrading to the newest version of the Shopify POS app and noticed that the gift card option is no longer working as expected. When selling a gift card, the system isn’t prompting the cashier to scan a gift card. The gift card information only shows up on the receipt, but we want to be able to hand the customer a gift card with the balance.
Can you please provide us with troubleshooting steps or help us update our system so that we can scan physical gift cards to provide to the customer?

I am also having this issue- extremely frustrating and not a great customer experience. As a clothing & gift store, I need to be able to wrap a physical gift card. Need resolution ASAP Shopify!
Yes we found an answer. Go on iPad POS app into register settings, payment settings, click gift card and make sure “accept physical gift card”’is selected. I got this answer from help line but they just assumed I clicked the button by accident myself (nope). I think it was to do with the update.
