How to downgrade POS from pro?

Hi, 

 

One of our ipads updated overnight and we're on the pro version. How do we downgrade to the classic? We want to see if we can make do with the classic or need the pro? Like many others we're also considering switching and would like the heads up also if we need to switch POS entirely.

Hi health1, We are looking at Shopify and Shopify POS, would you recommend from your experience? We are a jewelry store, we do layaways, Repairs, Special orders, We would like our customer to be to shop online as well as in-store seamlessly.  We have a loyal customer base that we want to create a better shopping experience for.  The other POS that we are looking at is Lightspeed.  Any insight would be helpful.

These are all the steps that you need to follow to get it done.

  1. From the Shopify POS pro app, click , and then click Support.
  2. Scroll down and tap Switch to POS Classic.
  3. Select why you're switching back to POS Classic.
  4. Click Switch back to POS Classic.
  5. Click OK.

PLEASE NOTE that you MUST switch apps on EVERY DEVICE that you have logged in. After you have switch apps, the Shopify POS pro app will close on the device that you're using. When you open the POS Classic app, you need to log in again.

How have you liked the POS Pro so far, @health1? The POS Classic is being replaced entirely by the all-new POS starting November 1. You will automatically be migrated over to the all-new POS at that time, if the POS Classic is currently the version you are using.

 

With the all-new Shopify POS app experience there are two subscription options depending on the features you need at your locations. POS Lite (the default) is recommended for selling at markets/fairs, and POS Pro is ideal for retail stores. To help you decide between Pro and Lite, please take a look at the POS Features page to see specifically which features are available on each. Once you’ve decided which one you’d like to move forward with, I encourage you to opt-in to your choice before November 1 in order to ensure a seamless transition. To do so, please go to ‘Point of Sale Channel > Locations’ in your Shopify admin.
