POS: Printer & Cash Drawer stopped working?!

Hi,

 

We're using the STAR POP10 cash drawer and bluetooth printer for our cash drawer POS solution.

We updated our POS app to the latest version yesterday - and immediately after updating we have encountered a new problem.

 

Our till drawer will open only once, regardless of how we opened it. After we close the cash drawer, if we ever attempt to reopen it we have to forcibly close the shopify app and reopen it first.

 

The same problem occurs with printing order receipts. We have to close and reopen the app before we can print any receipt off, and repeat the process after every single transaction!

 

Anyone come across this?

I've been experiencing this exact same problem since Friday

Repeated attempts to explain to Shopify Support how inconvenient, disappointing and frustrating this is, has fallen on deaf ears

They've recently emailed to let me know a fix will be part of the next app update, but they don't know when this will be released

Atrocious communication, which has made a bad situation even worse

Received the same communication as yourself @Lowri_Roberts - a new app version will be released that will rectify this issue but they could not give me a planned release date.

Exactly the same issue over here. With the additional problem of our barcode scanner also stops working.

To fix our barcode scanner I uninstalled our app, turned off our POS, reinstalled the app, opened the app up and went to the manage connected hardware screen then turned the POS system back on and it picked the hardware up and the scanner kicked back into life - don't know if this will be helpful for you but it's worth a shot!

 

As for the cash drawer and receipt printer - Shopify support assured me there will be an app update released in the near future to fix these issues.

YES! Just wanted to second this!! Our Star MPOP reader cannot print receipts and so frustrating. We also have custom gift card purchases that people like to have the gift amount on paper included. We also get a lot of present buying from our store and people like to have the gift receipts printed as well. Looking forward to a speedy update..!

The update has been released, so we can now print invoices and open the cash drawer.

But every product scanned is added to the cart twice!

Have informed the Retail Support Team, so I suppose there will be ANOTHER update soon.

At least we’re not yet paying $89 per month to use the app
