Searching customer and order notes

It would be great if when searching on the CUSTOMERS or ORDERS page,

the search included the notes field of the individual customer or order.

I use the notes feature to keep track of all kinds of things.

The tags feature works for a different kind of grouping.

I want to search for a customer/order by a certain reference I made in the notes field.

I can for sure see how it would be useful to search through the notes you or your staff have made during a busy day. The usual way to achieve this ability would be using the tagging method you have suggested. Since this doesn't work for you I'm going to submit this as a feature request. If you'd like to be notified if and when this feature is added to the Shopify POS app, you can email support@shopify.com with this request.

This would be an extremely useful feature, not just for Shopify POS, but for ALL Shopify solutions (Web Admin, API, etc).

Having the ability to search on custom attribute fields as well!

We use these fields to track customer serial numbers and the such.

Come on shopify  this is elementary stuff 11 months to add a simple search function that could be done in an hours work,  I just don't understand why such a simple very useful feature is overlooked . Hope this gets done soon or at least give us some feedback on the progress.

I use shopify for selling a membership into a association.

I need to provide a search using an ID and check if they're active or not. The ID is written into Customer Note inside customers info so not sure how to achieve that.

Hi all,

The Better Reports app has this capability.

1. From the app home page, open the report 'Order details'

2. Click 'Choose filter...'

3. Select the field 'Note'

4. Type in the text you are searching

Only the matching orders are displayed.
