Canonical tags: There is more than one canonical link on this page.

Hi,

I ran an analysis on my page and it came up with: There is more than one canonical link on this page.

I see that under the domain settings for my online store it said:

Primary domain: www.ludus.is

But for the third party domain it said: ludus.is

Is this causing the problem for me.

I tried tried changing the primary domain to ludus.is to try it out but then Shopify just changed the third party domain to www.ludus.is instead.

Have I set anything up in the wrong way?

This is an accepted solution.

Hmm, here is a snippet of code from your theme.liquid layout.

  <meta name="theme-color" content="{{ settings.color_button }}">
  <link rel="canonical" href="{{ canonical_url }}">
  <link rel="canonical" href="{{ canonical_url }}">
  <link rel="preconnect" href="https://cdn.shopify.com">

Note the canonical line repeated twice -- looks like a theme developers mistake to me?

Remove one of those and your problem will be solved.

Dear Tim,

Thank you for your help. You are right, this is a fault in the developers theme and your solutions worked perfectly!
