Code in top of screen - cant find HELP!

In the very very top left hand side of the screen above the logo there is a ">    

I obviously left the closed piece of coding when fiddling with things and i can't seem to locate it 

would anybody be able to help?

Of course its such a common piece of code so cant just search for it.
