Google Analytics Event Tracking for Express Checkout Buttons?

When my website visitors click the Express Payment Checkout Buttons (e.g. PayPal Express Checkout) this opens a new window on top of my store and may confuse some older web users who don’t expect to lose their original place. 

This is a known characteristic that is thought to affect elderly web users in particular, and I am seeing users drop off after they click add to cart, even though they already know that shipping is free.

Can I setup google analytics event tracking on the Express Payment Checkout Buttons (on the shopping cart page and checkout pages) to determine if this is where users are dropping off after they Add-To-Cart?
