Google Verification

I’m not sure if I am posting this in the correct place, but I need assistance re: verifying my website with Google.  I repeatedly get the same error message (unable to verify) and I am beyond frustrated.  I have tried the HTML Tag and Meta Tag, but nothing seems to work.  While my store is hosted by Shopify, my domain name was purchased through Go Daddy....if that makes any difference.  I’m NOT tech savvy at all, so any and all assistance would be appreciated.

Hi There!

Where are you placing the HTML Meta tag that Google is handing you? It should be right under the <head> in the theme.liquid file.

To see the files go to "Online Store"->"Edit"->"Edit Code" and search for it there.

Let me know if you need additional help.

This is an accepted solution.

Hi @GingerArrow,

If all else fails, you can try verifying by adding a TXT record on your DNS, through GoDaddy. Google almost always offers this alternative, along with detailed instructions on how to do that from the GoDaddy console (just select GoDaddy as your provider from the dropdown and follow the steps).
