I use a free little app called Snap2HTML to generate browsable directories of files on a hard drive. Here is an example of one of them:

In WordPress I can easily just pop the html file onto my host and then link back to it within a page. Shopify doesn't support HTML as an upload type for media, and attempting to just copy-paste these into the HTML editor causes it to crash. Also there is some javascript in there which is probably causing issues.
Am I going to need to keep files on my own outside host and link out to them, or is there a "better way" to keep everything in one place here in Shopify?
Thanks for any suggestions!
