How do I put a background image on Brooklyn theme footer?

I have searched the community and have tried to follow several suggestions only to mess up the theme each time. I need DETAILED instructions on how to make the background of the footer a photo.

What I have done:

1. I added the photo to the Assets:

Mistletoeonmain_Logo_footer_-07-07.jpg

then I followed these instructions.

1. Go to Online Store->Theme->Edit code
2. Asset->theme.scss.liquid->paste below code at the bottom of the file

#shopify-section-footer {
background-image:url({{ 'your-image.jpg' | asset_url }});
}

I am assuming that the 'your-image.jpg' should be Mistletoeonmain_Logo_footer_-07-07.jpg am I leaving the ' on either side of the file name? I am also assuming that I need to change the asset_url to mistletoe-on-main.myshopify(dot)com/admin/themes/110158053529?key=assets/Mistletoeonmain_Logo_footer_-07-07.jpg

I put the (dot) because it kept wanting to just put the photo.

But when I do that it messes up the whole theme. Can someone give me detailed instructions?

ALSO- is there a specific size that the footer is?

TIA
