How to change darkness of entire webpage BUT menu when menu is active?

I'm trying to change the darkness of my entire webpage EXCEPT my menu when its active, something like this:

I'm using the app Smart Menu by Quikify app.

Hello Niels,

You have to write a Jquery function to achieve this a/to your theme html.
You can use mouseenter event and here is a example which you can follow.

I would have to bind this code with my own(created by smart menu)? That would be to difficult for me, are there easier solutions?
