I can create a custom "customers/account" template, but how do I show it?

Hi there, I wish to show an alternate "customers/account" template. I can create it through "Add new template" and then choosing "customers/account" and specifying an alternate name. The result is "customers/account.myalternate.liquid" but how do I get this to show on the website?
