Hi,

I hope everyone is doing well. I have problem with url of my blog posts. It is showing the blogs two times in the url e.g. :-

 https://MY_DOMAIN.com/blogs/blogs/my-article

whereas above url should be like :- https://MY_DOMAIN.com/blogs/my-article

Please help me, how can I fix this url so that it will show blogs only one time rather than two times?

Thanks in advance.

@Saad5

I understood your goal but I think first you have to know about the Shopify URL structure.

Blog url: domain.com/blogs/[category-handle]

Article url: domain.com/blogs/[category-handle]/[article-handle]

The 'domain.com/blogs' would be the root part of the URL structure, and part of Shopify core, so you would not be able to edit this.

but in your case url showing 'domain.com/blogs/blogs/my-article' so, as I mentioned first 'blogs' is root part you can't change it but second 'blogs' is blog category and you can edit it as per your requirement like 'news', 'press', 'recipes', etc... so I think you have to change category name so url show something like 'domain.com/blogs/news/my-article'

Check following screenshot to edit your blog category:

I hope it will help you and let me know still if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Hi there @Saad5!

Don here from Shopify. :)

As URL paths are generated procedurally by Shopify, the URL for a given blog article will always be yourstorename.com/blogs/[name of blog]/[name of article/post].

If you would like to avoid having the word 'blogs' show up twice in this URL you would need to consider naming your blog something other than 'Blogs' as this word would already, automatically be part of the URL for your store's blogs.

You would in this instance be using yourstorename.com/blogs/blogname/articletitle.

I trust that clears up the situation a little.

Are you using your store's blogs to increase your reach or for SEO purposes?

Regards,

Don
