I recently implemented reCAPTCHA v2 on my store (reCAPTCHA v3 doesn't work) in order to stop fake subscription to my 1. Newsletter sign up 2. New account sign-up forms. Before adding the reCAPTCHA, I used to get in the region of 100 new sign-ups each day.
After the reCAPTCHA, I am still getting the same amount of fake customers added to my Shopify store. I asked the developer and he said that I would still be getting spam from the old spambots (those who have my email address from before implementing reCAPTCHA). He said that if I change my email address, it will stop the issue.
So I replaced the old email address with a new one which is an alias of the old (I spoke to Google as my email domain is with them and they said that an alias should work).
So is the reason why I am still getting fake subscriptions from spambots is because I need to have a new email account (no alias) or is it something else?
