SSL not working / https not working

Dear Shopify community,

 

Wednesday the 16th we launched a new website https://warenhuysonline.nl/ but the ssl is still pending. People who are trying to check out some products are seeing a warning. I've read multiple other threads about this but couldn't find a clear answer.

What can we do to get our site running on https and make it possible for people to buy products on our store?

Ash here from the Shopify team. Welcome to the Shopify Community! 

I understand you're experiencing some issues with the SSL certificate on your custom domain, and I'm happy to assist with this. When a custom domain is connected to Shopify, provided that the correct DNS records are added to it and there are no conflicting records, the SSL certificate will be provisioned automatically. Since the SSL is failing on your domain, that tells me there is likely an issue with the records. I used a DNS checker website to look up your domain, and I can see a AAAA Record, which appears to be the cause of the issue. 

In order for a domain to successfully connect to Shopify, the only required DNS records are the following: 

  • A-Record: 23.227.38.65
  • CNAME Record: shops.myshopify.com

In order to resolve this issue, I suggest logging into your domain hosting account and removing the AAAA Record from your domain. If you're unsure of how to do this step, then I recommend contacting your domain hosts support, as they should be able to assist with the change.

Thank you for the screenshot. I do see that you have the required Shopify DNS records, and there are also a number of additional A and CName Records, but no AAAA Records. Sometimes additional A and CName Records can cause issues, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I took another look at the DNS checker website, and I'm no longer seeing the AAAA Record that I previously mentioned. Your website appears to be loading with full SSL at this time, and when I visit now it is fully secure.
