Shopify Currency Converter - Product Page - Supply Theme

Hoping someone can give me a push in the right direction. Everything I find on the subject seems to be outdated pointing to some version of the Supply theme that must not be current.

I have attempted to follow the directions here:

https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/using-themes/change-the-layout/help-script-find-money-formats

And it's partially working. When I arrive on a product page and change my currency via the drop down from my currency (USD) to another, it works for the variant shown. If I change variants the new price shown is back in USD.

Similarly if I go to a collection page, the items in the collection are shown in the currency I chose, but when I get to a new product page, it's back in USD. But the related products further down the page are in the chosen currency.

I gather it has something to do with Ajax pulling in the variant price that's not getting converted but that's about as far as I've been able to get.

Any help appreciated!

In the original post, FYI, I linked to the wrong article. This is the guide I was following:

https://help.shopify.com/en/themes/customization/currencies/show-multiple-currenciesd

For what it's worth, I finally managed to get this to work. I finally found a community question that was similar enough I was able to figure out the soluction.

I'm still working on a secondary problem that's related to currency though. I'm using related product code found here.

https://github.com/carolineschnapp/recently-viewed

Despite being not too recent, it does work but it is not working with the currency switcher. If I leave it as is, I get the currency in default USD no matter what currency is selected.

Still reading similar threads to see if I can find the solution.

I have failed to come up with a way to get the related products code to return the converted currency but it works everywhere else in my theme. If someone has a solution, I'd love to hear it but in the meantime I just decided that the recently viewed prints at the bottom of the page didn't need to show the prices so I removed that part of the code. It's a little inconsistent but I'd rather not show the prices there than have them stand out like a  sore thumb to anyone who chooses to convert to their local currency.

Hi MarkOnArt

I see that you want a currency converter. Does your store need to convert many currencies? Our currency app provides a free plan to convert 164 currencies. Do you want to try it?

Just ignore if you don't need it. Sorry for the disturbance.
