Hello fellow Partners,
I'm about winding in a new project for a client in my home town. They are the biggest supplier of car wheels and tires in this region of Norway. Before I make a deal with them, I wanna be sure I can handle and set up this project nicely with the necessary selections and navigation options needed. Because I'm not THAT good with hardcoding everything my self yet...
1. Take a look at this norwegian site, which my client buys from. Click "Felger" (Wheels) http://www.felgimport.no/. They have a nice way of clicking your way through brand > model > type, and then finally to get a list on wheels that fits for that particular car. AND, they can select the size of wheels from that list.
When you select one of the wheels/products, you will see that you can select different types, even on the same size. F.ex. 15" have different sizes for bolts and center radius.
2. When clicking "Felger" and then one of the orange links for brand, what would be the best way of setting up navigation for this?
So, on this one I get really mixed up in my head on how to work through this. I'm sure there is a way. So my question is, what is the best way of building this up?
Do anyone of you have a good tip on nice way to thing throught, or way of sketch and plan the structure of navigations?
And, as I'm writing this post, I found something about custom fields for products... ?
I built out an e-commerce site to sell tires 3 years ago. It was nearly impossible to use Shopify due to the quirks of the tire industry itself. In my opinion you're in tough if you choose Shopify for this domain, although your mileage may vary since you're in Norway, and 3 years have elapsed in the tire industry.
Heh, yes. It looks complicated. But I'll have to talk to them. I'm sure I remembered he said they wanted something simple. So, at least I should be able to list wheel brands and some metrix for each product, right? Maybe, with using the new metafields tool? http://shopify.freakdesign.com.au/
They sell like hell, so it would be nice to hook this client. As long as I can make the store work okey.
