We are using Shopify + Vend with 4 Outlets through their first party sync. Our process for handling orders is such.
1. We set the New Order under Staff Notifications to forward to a mail account on a computer at our Main Outlet
2. I created a script on Mac Mail that automatically prints orders when they come in and plays an Audible so the staff knows an order just came in.
3. The staff at the main outlet pulls the products on the order that they have, and then contact our other outlets to track ones they don't.
4. Those products at other outlets then have to be manually transfered into our Main Outlet, since shopify only pulls stock form the Main Outlet.
With the recent outlet syncing, Shopify is now pulling inventory directly out of each store. Awesome! If we pull up an order in Shopify, it breaks all the items down on the order by location to show where they were pulled from. However, the New Order e-mail still doesn't display this information.
We need this functionality in the New Order e-mail, and i'm curious if anyone knows what line of script needs to be added to the template to show it. I see there are location liquid variables, but things get over my head past that. I deeply appreciate any help, as without this feature the staff doesn't know which store to pull products from without logging into the Shopify backend. This is something we don't really want them having access to do in the first place.
