Usage Charge failing because of token

Hi Shopify People,

I have run into a problem and urgently need help. I have built a public app using an online token to authenticate. I use the orders/paid webhook to send usage charges to my app subscription endpoint. The implementation worked initially, but after the first usage charge was sent I started receiving this error:

"errors": "[API] Invalid API key or access token (unrecognized login or wrong password)".

I now have a large amount of my app product sold but the subscription has not updated.

Is there a way to retroactively update the reoccurring subscription with the usage charges that failed.

Also, how should I be authenticating the stores that download my app so I do not run into this problem again?
