My website https://ramapublishing.com/ is loading extremely slowly (30 seconds - times out sometimes) even though I have been through and optimized images, removed some elements etc.
Can someone please help me? I am using the Motion theme https://themes.shopify.com/themes/motion/styles/classic
with some modifications (from HeyCarson) but I don't think they should be causing a problem.

Is there also a speed issues the .myshopify.com subdomain your store has?
If you recently added, changed, or updated a domain name it can take awhile for changes to propagate enough so browsers can actually find your site.
If you bought the domain from shopify check your settings shopify.com/admin/settings/domains and or contact email@example.com.
Otherwise contact your domain name registrar or previous hosting company to diagnose your domains address records.
Thanks for the feedback Jason
It seems to be all pages but it is slowest on the homepage (this is the one I test most often too)
I haven't got that many customizations built into the homepage - there is no popup, the images have been optimised, there doesn't appear to be anything on their that needs to "load" - I have seen much more complicated websites load really quickly (there are probably other factors to this but I was expecting a Shopify website to be much quicker)
Hope that helps - please let me know if you spot anything
... been using the same domain for a while now and https://rama-publishing.myshopify.com loads much quicker
If the myshopify.com subdomain performs fine, then that indicates something is wrong with the domain settings.
Ah that's interesting - so I should reach out to my domain host (namecheap) to see if they have seen this problem/to check my setup?
Yes as the underlying issue isn't understood so this is the next troubleshooting step.
If they resolve it please share details of the underlying problem as these types pf posts keep coming up but the actual problem isn't being identified.
I contacted my domain host and there were issues with my DNS records, namely conflicting redirects, that they were able to help resolve.
My website speed now appear much better when I ran the same speed test from dotcom-tools.com- previously I was getting 20+ second loading times in some locations.
Will post if this changes but for now it looks like my problem was resolved. Appreciate your assistance in resolving.
