Why does code editing page show some css in different colors?

Must be a simple answer but I can't find it anywhere on forums, where is the explanation for color-coded lines in shopify code as seen here  For example, why are the lines shown in red?

Hello, you have forgot to terminate the ._btn  and .mdm_comment_form with '}'


Please please double } after the termination of &:hover

Hello @jeffamm 

This is a good question. As you can see, the previous HTML element was light green and then it turns to red. 

When it turns it to red, it means that something before him went wrong.

In your case what went wrong is that you forgot to add the symbol } at the line 195

Thanks for pointing out the errors, I assumed the colors meant some sort of error.  Is there list somewhere of what the different colors mean?

Thanks Diego, so other than errors, why is some code black, some green, and other is red but doesn't appear to be an error?  Is there documentation on this somewhere?
