Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels
Hi,
I'm trying to verify my shopify so that facebook ads will work. I;ve done it via DNS and meta except i can't wait the 72 hours for that to register. Can anyone assist with doing it via html file? I've read all the tutorials that i can find but haven't been able to locate a walkthrough of how to do it.
Thanks
I only did the DNS part after trying to do the HTML and Meta I given up but after reading this thread I hit refresh on the Facebook business page and it already verified my store so guess I wasted my time with trying the HTML ( which I now know wont work for shopify stores ) and meta which I never got done... so once you done the DNS part wait least 30 mins then hit refresh on your Facebook business page. Hope this helps you out there.. ( I use Shopify )
This verification process has been SO BEYOND irritating - I cannot verify my domain for the life of me even though I've followed all of the instructions and legit read ALL of the forums. I've had to request a review 3 different times to get my page verified because of this, and IT'S STILL NOT VERIFIED. Instagram should really have it's own verification process independent of Facebook. It's HORRIBLY confusing for absolutely no reason. I have an Etsy shop so I had to create a separate Shopify website, just so I could create a Facebook catalog, just so I could get my Instagram and Facebook Page linked, and now I have to verify my domain by linking the two again in this seemingly impossible process before I can have my page approved for Instagram shopping. You spend so much money to get your shop all set up and there is NO ONE to help, and their step by step instructions to the verification process doesn't even WORK. UGH. At this point, I really just want to take my business to a different platform all together.
Anyways, if anyone knows how on EARTH I can verify my shopify website domain for Facebook (other than what's already been suggested here) please help me.
just did it.
DNS is the best way to go, html did not work for me at all. DNS took 2 minutes to update.
DNS is the only one worked for me too
I am not sure if this has been resolved. Otherwise, I thought this might help:
Having tried all the suggestions given and nothing was forthcoming, I reluctantly checked my info details on the Facebook Business page
I realised that my new address has not been updated: I did just that. Checked other info that needs updating; went back to the verification page and redid everything. Boom it worked.
It is worth giving these steps a try. Hopefully, it works for you this time.
Cheers!
I just got verified! After a few hours of trying absolutely everything.
What worked for me is first logging out and then back in to my Shopify store. Then I switched my theme to another random theme I had saved, and then I switched it back to my original theme. I also refreshed the Facebook page and copied the new code.
I really hope this helps for whoever is still having trouble verifying your domain! Sending love!
I wasn't able to figure out how to upload the html file but if you add the text to your DNS it's much easier.
In Shopify go to your online store
Domains - Manage - DNS Settings
Scroll to the bottom and find the TXT RECORD
Actions - Edit and change name to @ and then paste the verification code into the TXT Value
This worked within a minute or so for me
THANK YOU for this response!! I literally tried everything except for this, wasted about an hour and a half trying to research why it wasn't working and it finally worked after doing the DNS TXT. I appreciate you!
After several hours of trying. This worked for me! I was doing it wrong in the beginning because I was writing the name wrong. The name of the TXT RECORD has to be @ as you said.
Thank you
For me, DNS Method worked. In just under a minute, domain is verified. Otherwise it was giving error "Domain is registered by another business manager"
This is for future Shopify store owners with similar problems, I have a quick step-by-step solution. On your business account,
I'm very unlucky.
The file cannot be placed in the root.
My DNS asks me for the name, it doesn't accept "@". I tried various words but the test fails.
I put the tag in theme.liquid. I inserted it in different places. but the problem is that the closing of the tag is removed. Facebook wants " />", Shopify turns it into ">".
so I have no way to verify the domain.
Facebook support doesn't know what to do.
If anyone is still struggling, this just worked instantly for me. I thought this whole time I needed to add spaces to make it indented like the rest of the code, but just pasting it right below <head> from the very left of the next line worked! I haven't been able to link a photo however...
