mismatched price google merchant centre HELP!

hi guys,

Im using the google shopping app within my shopify to upload my products to the google merchant centre, everything was going well and all my products were being approved, however lately all my product old and new and now getting disapproved but only products with variants, ive rang the google merchant centre for advice and there could see the problem its flagging a warning saying
"mismatched price (page crawl)" saying the value in feed differs from the value on website, however this is not the case this is because the website shows you the smallest variant of that product first which reflects the " price on website" and not until you select the correct variant in the drop down selector that the product does in fact reflect the value in feed, its as if google are saying "your telling me your large item is £10 but in your website is states £1" but this is because it shows you the smallest variant at £1 first.

What google are telling me and what i have shopify working on in the background im reading its all to do with something called structured and micro data, now this is all technical language to me, and i have no idea how to include this data onto my shopify code (if that whats needed at all) please can someone explain it to me in layman terms so i can understand the problem and what the fix may be, i do have to shopping feed upload apps on my store 1 is the official google one and one is an app called cedcommerce now id like to sort this between me shopify and the merchant centre and the official google shopping feed up loader however the rep on whats app at cedcommerce said delete google shopping app, and re upload all the products throughout there app and she assures me this problem will go away. she wanted my merchant centre approved link request etc, but um always wary about stuff like that, even tho they have excellent ratings within the shoppify app.

however like stated id really like to try sort this myself i really appreciate any and all your help as im really frustrated, confused and have no idea how to progress.

kind regards,

When you submit variants, you need to submit the variant link.
For example: https://www.example.com/products/product-handle/?variant=123564789

Then the theme should automatically show the correct variant. If this is not the case, then you need to update your theme so that it does work that way. Out of 98% of my Shopify customers this works out of the box, but some old themes may not be compatible, so this needs to be updated on your end. Consider asking your Shopify theme developer.

If cedcommerce does not submit variant links, consider using an app that does submit this info. There are plenty that do. When you migrate to a new data feed management tool, make sure that you keep the same product id, to avoid losing historic data and ranking.

Also make sure the variant link that is clicked on from the ad, has the correct structured data. Here is a great tutorial: https://feedarmy.com/kb/shopify-microdata-for-google-shopping/

It is a requirement that landing page if the its a variant, shows the correct variant as per landing page requirement: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/4752265?hl=en-GB

When you want to resolve issues yourself, make sure to study up on all policies to ensure you do not make a mistake. Google Shopping has a lot of policies and has a steep learning curve.

If you have further questions, simply ask here on the community.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

Thanlyou for your response I did read your article on feed army Web page yesterday but its all talking in very technical terms and about code and I dont know what to do there.

What apps in your experience for feed uploading do the varients for me. Also does the debut theme have this? If it does how do I add the varient link to a product. Where do I even find the varient link? I can't find a "add varoent link" button on my product page back end just, add varients which lets me add specific varients with sku and Barcodes, price and quantity wich I do and thats it i click save and it pushes them to merchant centre.

Cheers

Hi, yes sorry about the technicalities, I have tried to make it as simple as possible. You are more than welcome to contact me and I am happy to install it for you.

Well, I would say my application!  https://feedarmy.com/shopify/

However, there are plenty of greater data feed management tools out there. I would say the important things to consider are.

Do you want to use import tools, or improve the feed by manually edit data?

Do you want to have a promotions feed?

Do you want a Google Shopping Specialist, that can remove all headaches?

Do you want to upload custom images?

Do you want to have one feed, that can plugin in multiple channels such as Facebook and Bing.

Then my application would be great.

When you use my application, the variants are automatically created with the correct variant links. The variant links are as followed

{domain}/products/product-handle/?variant={variant id}

You can find it when you navigate to your product variant in the backend. Then look at the address bar.

I offer a 30 day free trial so you can test everything before using it. Give it a try you'd be surprised how easy it is.

We can then check if your theme is supported which should be the case.

Tbf I'm new to the world of ecommerce and shopify and what I'm wanting to do at the moment is upload my products to my shopify store like I am doing, im selecting new product in the shopify back end then I start doing the normal uploading of page title, description etc I fill out all the nessesary fields including country of origin, etc etc then I scroll past the SKU and Barcode section and click on "this products has different sizes, varients, etc. And a new field opens up and in there I put in the different sizes and colours separated by a comma. Then I click next and it shows me all my selected fields of sizes and colour then I just sat filling in the information so each indavidual product imc size and cour has its own barcode and sku and quantity etc i then select the right picture from.the media ive installed abouve all this and omce im finished i click save!

Thats it. I'm getting a notification in green saying congrats all.your products will be live imidiatly and uploaded to your shopping app. (Google shopping app) built in to my store.

I wait 15 minutes and go onto my merchant centre and they go into pending and it does it thing then all of a sudden I get a price missmatch page crawl warning. And it flags up say the large varient and says it dofferent from the price on website and shows the smallest varient price in the "price on website" field and im stuck.

As you are using cedcommerce, it is recommend to contact them regarding your issues. As it is either an issue at source, ie the feed or an issue in the theme.

Google shopping is not beginner-friendly and does require understanding how it all works and what you need to do. As the policies are big and complex.

So I recommend you first check if the feed is correct, contact your feed supplier

Then check fit the product landing page returns the correct data both visually and in the structured data.

If you need help with this, I am happy to help.
