sort collections based on latest products added to the collection

i want to know that is it possible to sort the collection based on latest products added to that collection ( created_at ).

basically i want to add section in theme specifically naming new arrival , but instead of products i want to show the collections.

so i want to know that if its possible to sort the collection based on newly added products. or there is any way to achieve this new arrival with collections.
