Hi, I have a new store set-up, selling Crossfit Apparel, we have started with a core range through a dropshipping supplier. We want to consider expanding our range and include self manufactured goods in our product range. The problem I can see is if a customer chooses a product supplied by both a dropshipper and the self manufactured, the fact that the packages will come as seperate delivery items. Which in the eyes of the consumer can't seem very professional.
Does anyone have any advice on this?
Happy to explain further if un-clear.
Nowadays with online shopping opening up an array of products and services to customers that wouldn't usually be able to access these items without online shopping, most customers understand that items are manufactured all over the world, and this can affect the shipping, especially when they're making a large order.
As an online store owner, you can take responsibility for informing your customers of this difference in arrival, and best inform them of the expected delivery times for certain products. The more upfront you are about shipping times and estimated arrivals for the customers the higher your chances of still being perceived as honest and professional.
You will need to organize your shipping settings for your account to consider different shipping times per products, apps like Better Shipping: https://apps.shopify.com/better-shipping?utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=Guru+Ask&utm_source=social or Parcilfy : https://apps.shopify.com/parcelify?utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=Guru+Ask&utm_source=social, allow for this differentiation of shipping prices and times, that will give your customers an accurate estimate of the shipping costs and account for differences in this structure of shipping settings of your Dropshipping and Self Manufactured Goods.
Hope this helps!
Products will come in different packets, but you can have one solution. If you have strong relation with your dropshipping suppliers then you can negotiate with suppliers to place your own lables on packing units. So that you can deliver both products from your side.
Hope that helps,
