I am new to Shopify. Just doing research and checking the possibilites for my future e-commerce shop.
I was wondering if I am able to setup dropshipping e-shop for suppliers I choose and I will get in contact with?
I've seen some apps for dropshipping which are offering some items, but nothing I would be interested in.
So, can I get in touch with the companies I would be interested to work with, to setup the items on my shopify e-shop?
I assume if this is possible, then I can setup the percentage for the dropshipping from this vendor?
Also, in terms of shipping, can I setup, based on feedback from supplier, where the shippings are possible and where not?
Sorry if this is spam post! Just trying to understand it!
Some great questions here!
I'm a commercial operations consultant specialising in helping new business owners get their e-commerce ideas off the ground, with experience in launching several dropshipping stores on Shopify.
What sort of products are you looking to sell? I assume you've thus far been looking at some of the large dropshipping apps that integrate with Shopify, such as Printful? The key thing to do is decide on what you'd like to sell and you can take it from there - once you've identified the product you''re after it then becomes much easier to find suppliers who can facilitate this.
With regards to shipping, the answer is yes, you will be able to select where you ship to.
It seems like you have a lot to get on with so if you'd like some further help doing so just let me know and we could always set up a call over skype to discuss further - I'd be more than happy to help!
Hi @zherer ,
first of all, thank you for your reply!
I would love to sell clothing & accessories from not that known premium designers.
My point would be to connect majority of them to one e-commerce place with worldwide shipping possibility.
Definitely not Aliexpress quality, but would love to get in touch with the companies by my own to agree on dropshipping possibilities.
Hypothetically, I would love to sell from Nike, or Adidas (just as an example).
Would I be able to add/connect them to my Shopify?
Can I manage the product I want to offer etc.. ?
Appreciate your help!
Dropshipping clothes from not-so-well-known premium designers is definitely a possibility, but the key hurdle here would be convincing these brands that allowing you to dropship their product is right for them. Many, for example, would want to seek assurances that your brand values align with theirs, and they'd also likely seek assurances that you will be able to successfully generate sales for them. Whilst it may be difficult to find designers who are open to this sort of arrangement, it's certainly not impossible - it's a matter of finding the right brands to work with.
With regards to the technicalities, you'd essentially be offering an aggregating service, similar to a company such as lyst.com. You'd need to integrate with each store that you partner with, so that when an order is placed on your website the right retailer receives the order and is able to process it. Alternatively, you could look to redirect customers from your website to the retailers website, taking a commission for each referral you make. As a commercial operations consultant, carrying out the technical integration required isn't within my skillset, but I could certainly offer guidance to you to turn your dream into a reality should you require it. If you'd like me to send you a proposal please do let me know - you can reach me on skype (username: live:zach_3604) or find me on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/zacharymarsden/).
Hope this helps!
