Financing, tax rates, and accounting
We have a large number of customers who have an account with us under a business name. After completing the switchover we have discovered that POS does not recognize that field at all. How can I have customers who are businesses, not individuals? Our data doesn't match up with Quickbooks now because Shopify is stripping off the business name for the customer accounts. Anyone find a solution?
Probably 1/3 of my customers are businesses (about 250 of them). I had to go in and manually enter the business name in the last name field so that we could find them in our customer list.
I haven't even addressed the issue with syncing in QuickBooks yet. I'm still too busy trying to find a way to make our daily operations workable. If I don't, I will never be able to leave this counter - my help is going to quit!
Yet another item on my "Bitch List."
Hi @Amy_Dryden
Great question! B2B customers and customer profiles is currently only available on Shopify Plus plan. You can learn more about that function and availability in our Help Center: Shopify Help Center | B2B Customers.
I recommend adding the business name as a tag in the customer profile, customer profile tags are searchable and will populate customer accounts that have the matching tag in them. Alternatively, using the business name as the first or last name can work as well.
Please don't hesitate to contact our retail support team for further assistance with questions like this. They are happy to help.

Have tried for days now to speak to someone about this. No luck getting through on the phone. Also, because the import stripped off the business names from our customers, even if someone can get this feature to show up on my plan, it still means I have to re-enter all the data (400+ customers).
Hi @Amy_Dryden
I just connected with our team that runs the phone support for the Quickbooks Migration and their call volume is low with minimal to no wait time. If you are available, please give them a call. If you are experiencing long holds or dropped calls with them, please let me know what time you placed the call (and timezone) so that I can investigate that.
