Can I import ALU column from Quickbooks POS into Shopify for bulk tagging?

Reviewing the Migration information on what does not import into Shopify, we use ALU's alot, mainly on product searches.   Will I be able to possibly copy the ALU column that exports from Quickbooks POS and paste it as a new column to do a "bulk Tagging" import into Shopify?

This link states you can put ALU in the SKU column

  https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/quickbooks/considerations

However, for the Socket Scanner to work with QB imported SKUS, you have to use the Variant SKU column for your QB price tags.

I would call the QB Migration team at 833-476-1302.

Where can I find a variant SKU field???

Does this make them scannable? I have found the 4-digit QB item number in the SKU field to be searchable but NOT scannable. I have also tried to make it 6-digits in the barcode field (so I can still search at least).

The QB migration team sends me to retail, and back and forth.

I am curious if you were able to resolve this. We use bar codes but the ALU's are critical for sorting merch. We just imported our inventory to Shopify but now I am seeing I may have to manually add those ALU's to the SKU field which is going to be extremely tedious. Please tell me you found a better way!

We have been slowly adding the ALU to the beginning of the description of our biggest movers using the Bulk edit feature in products admin, and has made searching so much easier (Example: What used to be “ADULT JAZZ SHOE” is now “EJ2 ADULT JAZZ SHOE” – Type Search for EJ2 on Ipad, then spacebar, then 8M, and comes right up in colors available.

Thank you. I was really hoping for an easier solution. Since the inventory organizes alphabetically, it is best to add those ALU's at the beginning of the description. So, migrating to Shopify is not without it's quirks ... oh well, data entry for 14k items it is! lol
