Creating draft orders (called "held receipts" in Intuit POS)?

Has anyone discovered a way to create a held receipt or draft order in shopify POS?  I know I can do it in Shopify online, so I am surprised to find it does not seem to be part of the POS interface?  I don't want to charge something to someone's account and leave it marked as unfulfilled...I just want it to live in the POS waiting for us to finish ringing it up, just like we used to do in Intuit POS.

This is an accepted solution.

Shopify POS does have this called “Saved Carts” – barcode the items in POS and assign the customer, then go to “More Actions”...scroll down and save the cart.
To view all held carts, to to more actions and scroll down to “View Saved Carts”.

Be very careful when you do this.

We re-created all of our hold tickets from QB POS this way and it works fine.  But if you "Log Out" of Shopify POS, all of those held carts will disappear.  Don't log out!!!

Also, you can only bring up the held carts that were created on that particular iPad.  You can't go to another station and see the same held carts.

Yes.  This is a huge problem.  The carts are deleated if you log out...say to do an update on the software.  One of MANY flaws with this POS.

Is there a way to print out a saved cart?

I wish - but unfortunately, I don't know of a way.

We ended up saying screw it and switched POS systems again. We found one that is very similar to QB POS and we are very happy with it so far! It has all the same features as QB POS and this company is so hands on they are handling everything for us.

What did you switch to? I’m pretty frustrated.

We researched several, none were very good options for what we need and they're expensive.

We just continued using QB POS, I already paid for it.

You can automate the store exchange easily without using QB services and we just got CC processors. Not ideal but still pretty easy, the clerks just type the price that the POS shows them into the CC machines manually.

Sucks we were lied to about shopify POS/QB POS switch. It does not work and we spent a lot of time and $ on new equipment and research we didn't even end up using.
