Customer asking about tax benefits for disabled veterans?

This customer message came in today:

Hello, I was in the process of completing my purchase and wanted to find out first if you honor tax exemption ID numbers for 100% disabled veterans. My purchase was going to be around $100 so the tax can add up quickly. Please advise as to your policies in this regard so I may know how to proceed. Thank you. Jan

Hi @fabulanebulae, thanks for reaching out to the Shopify community. 

I have heard of discounts for vets and disabled vets in the states, but how you want to handle this will depend on you and what you think is a good discount to offer. You can do a Google search to see what kind of vet discounts are offered at other stores in your area. I can't say if this person specifically is trying to pull one over on you or not, but they should have a veteran ID card to back up their claim. You can ask them to send that information and then set up a discount you think is appropriate.
