If you don't wish to continue using your Shopify store, you can learn how to close it down yourself here on our help site.
Once you have fully closed your store, you will no longer be billed for the use of Shopify.

Can you let me know what happens exactly when you try to close your store down yourself as per those instructions?
What seems to be preventing you from cancelling the account, and would you be able to share any messages or notifications you see when doing so?
As we're not able to close down accounts on our merchants' behalf, if you're not able to close down your account at all yourself you'd just need to reach out for account support via our Help Centre here.
There we'll be able to verify your identity and discuss your options for closing your account depending on the circumstances.
