Disappearing Tax on POS sales

Suddenly some items no longer allow tax to be added at checkout on the pos system.  I say some, because some items add tax and other items will not. There is no way I can find to manually add the tax. And yes the untaxed items are all check-boxed for add tax. I did a search in the community and it seems this has been a problem since last year with no help that I could find. I have sent a message to support also. Has anyone found a way to fix this or had shopify fix it for you?

Explained by Shopify support what happened in my instance.  Tax free weekend for my state and this particular product was included in that.  Cool how Shopify automatically includes and excludes tax free items as they change automatically.  Thank you Shopify Support!
