I can see how recording products that were donated could be beneficial. Are you able to talk a little bit more about the process? For instance, how often do you donate or give products away? Is this a pretty common occurrence?
My suggestion would be toadd an order tagto these particular orders. This can be done directly from your orders page and you can add them to new and existing orders. The tag could be something as simple as "donated", or "gifted". You can also add an order note to these particular orders to keep track of which products were donated.
Once that's done, you'll be able to search for them byfiltering your orders by tag from the Orders page in your Admin. You will need to select More filters > Tag and this will allow you to keep track of these donated orders.
