How can I obtain detailed sales tax reports for Georgia?

In Georgia, I have to have total sales and taxable sales/nontaxable sales amounts to file my return.  I can't get the shopify tax report numbers to come out to the amount of tax they are charging.  All I need is total sales for Georgia, total taxable sales for Georgia divided up by jurisdiction (county) and total non-taxable sales for Georgia.  Is there a report for that?

Hi there,

Shopify has a "Taxes" report under Analytics which shows the amount of tax charged by jurisdiction. Unfortunately, this report does not show the amount of taxable sales by jurisdiction.

Our Report Toaster app has all of these reports pre-built for you. Please feel free to take a look and let us know if we can answer any questions.

Is this something we as bookkeepers can use on our desktop/laptop computers for our client who sells on shopify?

Yes it is. Your client would need to first install the app on their shop. Once they do that, they can give you rights to the app under their Shopify Admin. If they prefer to not give you rights, they can provide you links to individual reports, kind of like sharing a link to a google doc.

If they want to install and contact support - we can help them through any of this.

Hi @susangwhitt

Claudia here from Better Reports.

Have you been able to find a solution? If not, I would recommend our app Better Reports for this.

We can create a report showing sales metrics by tax names in their unique combination. The report can also be sorted or filtered by state to only show Georgia's figures.

In addition to this, Better Reports has more than 60 built-in reports available out of the box that cover many common use cases for merchants. You can schedule reports to run at set frequencies to your email or Google Drive or export the reports in CSV, Excel or PDF format.

I encourage you to install Better Reports and start your free 14-day trial and I'll be happy to set this up for you.
