How can I remove VAT from US customer receipts?

Hello, 

I was wondering if it was possible to Take of VAT on US receipts as US customers always ask the VAT to be refunded to them as certain tax systems allows people to claim this back. Unfortunately, I am unbale to give them this refund as the VAT is included in the UK price and this is the cost of the item. How can I removes the VAT breakdown on receipts for US customers?

Hi @JoelleARB,

If you run your business from the UK and therefore include VAT in the prices of your products, you'll still be able to sell your products to US customers without VAT included if you wish.

In your tax settings, you should see an option titled "Include or exclude tax based on your customer’s country". Checking this box means that customers not liable to pay sales tax will pay the tax-exclusive price at checkout, while your UK-based customers will still pay the VAT-inclusive price. Please note that if you have access to our new Shopify Markets feature, this option will be moved from your tax settings (Settings > Taxes) to the Markets section of the admin, found by heading to Settings > Markets > Preferences:
