How can I switch my billing currency to AUD on Shopify?

Hi Team,

Our billing currency is set to USD and we would like it to be changed to AUD. So when we pay our Shopify bill it's in AUD ( Australian Dollar ). After doing some research - under billing currency in billing we don't have the ... 3 dots option to change it. Please assist.

At this time, paying Shopify bills in your local currency isn't available to merchants in countries outside of the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Singapore, and European Union countries where the Euro is the official currency. This is why there's no option to change the billing currency in your store.

I do understand the benefit of being able to pay in your local currency, so I'm happy to submit this as a feature suggestion to our platform development team. It's not an immediate solution but it's a good idea to make them aware of the demand for this so we can look into the possibility of introducing it in the future. If we end up allowing merchants in Australia to be able to pay in AUD, we'll publish it in our changelog.

Thanks Summer. Is there a way to generate the report to show the USD charged and the equivalent AUD in a csv export? 

The reason I am asking is because exporting the Shopify bills as csv seems to be the only way to track shipping costs that we as small business owners pay for on each order. As currency rates change by the day (USD to AUD), it's cumbersome to go back to each item and track the shipping costs and currency rate for each order. 

This is very much for tax purposes and profit analysis.

I definitely understand how valuable this type of report would be. I dug into the possibility of this and I found that it's not something we offer or we can offer. Since the conversion from USD to AUD is done by your bank or credit card company, this information is only visible on their or your end. On our end, we only see that we charge you in USD, so we don't have access to the converted rates.

The best solution to this is to charge your bills in AUD. This feature is not available at this time, but I'll let our platform development team know that there is a demand for this. It's not a guaranteed adjustment we can make, but we do consider your feedback in making future platform updates, so it's a great idea to let them know about the need for this.

I understand you're interested in paying for your bills in your local currency. At this time, this ability is only available in certain countries:

• United Kingdom (GBP)
• India (INR) 
• Canada (CAD)
• Singapore (SGD)
• Australia (AUD)
• European Union countries where the Euro is the official currency (EUR)

Since the feature is not offered in Nigeria at this time, I'll let our platform development team know you would like to be able to pay for your invoices in NGN. This isn't a guarantee, however, your feedback helps us determine what changes we need to roll out. If we end up offering the ability to pay for bills in your local currency in Nigeria, we will publish it on our changelog.
