Financing, tax rates, and accounting
so I just doing my own store and I saw my boss who also sell on ebay ,amazon and have a warehouse in L.A but he didn't collect any sale tax on shopify from his customer the shopify store is a different company name compare to ebay amazon . is this why ?

Thank you for getting in touch. Taxes in the US can be complex and knowing when to charge taxes to customers can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the type of products being sold and where they are being sold to. Generally, merchants only need to charge and remit taxes in states where they have a tax nexus, which can be based on physical factors (such as having employees or a warehouse in a state) or economic ones (such as making a certain number of sales to a state in a calendar year).
